Virginia has a well-developed Community Services Board (CSB) network that provides behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment to all residents regardless of ability to pay. The state has significantly expanded MAT access and recently expanded Medicaid, bringing comprehensive behavioral health coverage to hundreds of thousands of previously uninsured Virginians. Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Hampton Roads have the most treatment options.
